There are a lot of things that are unique about the Green Door Tavern. It’s Chicago’s oldest, and one of the only remaining wood structures built after the great fire but before changes to building codes. Sure, it leans. But it remains standing. If that doesn’t sum up Chicago, what does? This style pays homage to that sentiment, a gentle slope of the browline nodding to the fact that straight and plumb can be overrated.
