Beneath Chicago’s cosmopolitan veneer has always lied an industrial grit. These opposing forces are what gives Chicago its unique personality, worldly yet rooted, hip yet down-to-earth. The most obvious representation of this dichotomy sits below the train tracks along Hubbard Street. Here a passionate group of volunteers, the Union Pacific Railroad, and artists from around the world have joined efforts to create the Hubbard Street Mural Project. Together, they turn a functional structure into works of art. This easy to wear style echoes that mission with its paint-speckled inspired acetates.
